A Salesforce Marketing Cloud Expert is needed to design, build, launch, and optimize email, messaging, segmentation, and automation solutions. This role will support critical marketing technology initiatives, guide junior developers, and act as a module lead or point of contact for one or more markets or countries.


The role involves working across email development, journey orchestration, audience segmentation, reporting, and platform process improvements.

The expert will work with geographically distributed teams, including developers, project managers, and market stakeholders. Key objectives include improving campaign execution, maintaining reliable system processes, supporting new proof-of-concept initiatives, and identifying trends or issues that can inform future marketing decisions.


Task and deliverables:

  • Build, launch, and monitor email campaigns, messages, journeys, and audience segmentation within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Implement and support the full lifecycle of email and messaging initiatives, from development through testing, deployment, reporting, and optimization.
  • Develop reusable email templates, content assets, and campaign components using HTML, CSS, AMPscript, SSJS, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud tools.
  • Create and maintain audience segments, automations, and data-driven campaign logic using SQL and relevant SFMC modules.
  • Generate, review, and interpret email performance reports to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support campaign asset development, including selecting or adapting imagery and content elements that improve audience response.
  • Guide junior developers on Salesforce Marketing Cloud development activities, standards, and best practices.
  • Act as module lead and point of contact for one or more markets or countries.
  • Document system processes, recurring issues, campaign workflows, and technical recommendations for the project team.
  • Develop and support proof-of-concept initiatives for new Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions and enhancements.


Required experience:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Required: 6–7+ years of IT experience, including 3–4+ years of hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience.
  • Required: Strong knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud and core email marketing, messaging, segmentation, and automation concepts.
  • Required: Experience with at least three Salesforce Marketing Cloud modules, such as Email Studio, Journey Builder, Mobile Studio, Contact Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder, Advertising Studio, SQL, or audience creation.
  • Required: Experience writing moderately complex SQL queries for segmentation, reporting, or automation use cases.
  • Required: Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, AMPscript, and SSJS for email and campaign development.
  • Required: Strong attention to detail and experience with email testing, quality assurance, and deployment validation.
  • Required: Understanding of Salesforce best practices for marketing automation, data management, campaign execution, and platform governance.
  • Required: Ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership in a geographically distributed team.
  • Required: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Nice to have: Experience acting as a module lead, market lead, country point of contact, or technical owner for Salesforce Marketing Cloud workstreams.
  • Nice to have: Experience supporting proofs of concept or implementing new marketing technology solutions.
