To strengthen our team, we are looking to fill the position of Rare Disease Patient Program Liaison.


KEY ACTIVITIES

* Demonstrate leadership behavior by keeping patients at the center of the initiatives and prioritizing activities to achieve the objectives, aligned with UCB´s values.

* Liaise and coordinate with the Medical Lead, Access team, and Commercial lead and collaborate in the implementation of key Patient Support Program (PSP) initiatives. (Connect the dots mindset)

* Active participation toward the implementation of the medical strategy through the PSP.

* Maintain excellence in the execution in collaboration with Medical Operations towards the implementation of PSP while continuing to explore opportunities to innovate on initiatives to improve treatment adherence and outcomes.

* In-field visits with key customers, PAGs, and KOLs to oversee the PSP implementations and progress, and take feedback for future initiatives.

* Comply with UCB´s values, processes, and policy, making sure the proper documentation is in order among internal and external stakeholders participating in the program implementation.

* Collaborate in the PSP periodic report analysis and dissemination of insights to relevant internal stakeholders.

PATIENT SUPPORT PROGRAM ENGAGEMENT

* This position is responsible for mapping potential tools and materials that can add value to the PSP with a comprehensive approach. Identifies and communicates promptly the potential barriers for the program, collaborating with the Medical Operations team in the implementation of actions towards the mitigation of such, ensuring compliance with UCB policies and procedures. This position partners with Medical Operations to oversee the implementation of disease management activities such as quality-of-life scales, vaccinations, training in the use of medications and accompanying families in the process of the patient's transition to adulthood.

* Work cross-functionally with the PSP operational team and the internal stakeholders to improve the gaps and take the opportunities to grant access and improve the medical condition of the patients living with Rare diseases.

* This role is accountable for the successful integration of the strategy with the PSP across internal and external customers, being responsible for the co-creation, implementation, or coordination of the awareness activities and training needed. The appropriate track of the activities towards effective execution of the PSP will be crucial for the enrollment and treatment continuity of the patients with UCB therapies. Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.

PATIENT ENGAGEMENT

* Mapping key initiatives and stakeholders from a medical affairs perspective, collaborating with the access team in the implementation with excellence and understanding of the impact and value for the patients/caregivers.

* Identify unmet needs of patients and their caregivers related to their medical condition to identify opportunities for improving their quality of life through UCB´s initiatives as part of the medical strategy, and in partnership with the PSP Manager

* Act as a liaison between the PSP initiatives and patients/caregivers, safeguarding a clear understanding of the PSP's benefits, enrollment, and redemption processes, and collaborating on innovative solutions.

* Collaborate with key internal stakeholders (e.g., Government & Patient Advocacy Manager, Medical Science Partners, and Customer-Facing roles) to promote patient engagement and engagement with patient organizations & patient advocacy groups (PAGs) aiming to improve treatment adherence and quality of life.

* Handle and communicate issues related to implementation to ensure transparency, compliance, and best practices.

* Collect and convey patient input in key projects, following the Patient engagement process, to ensure that their insights are considered in project objectives, in partnership with the APEX/PAGs Manager.

* Manage interactions with external direct-to-patient agencies that assist UCB in maintaining relationships with patients, ensuring thorough follow-up on activities (e.g., PSP enrollment process).

* Conduct face-to-face visits, if requested, including home visits, visits to doctors' offices, or other locations where patients feel comfortable during enrollment and/or follow-up, following the current strategy.

* Visit a specific group of selected physicians to promote the PSP solutions.

* Provide patients through the PSP with educational materials, resources, and explanations to help them better understand their condition, treatment plans, and self-care strategies.

Requirements:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Life sciences, pharmacy, or medicine, etc…

* Desirable Master’s and Ph.D;

* Desirable deep understanding of the rare disease patient journey.

* Fluent English;

* Pharmaceutical industry experience is mandatory.

* Reside in SãoPaulo;

* Willingness to travel.
