Job Summary
The Software Release Manager II plans, coordinates, ensures timely notifications are sent, and schedules software releases to meet business objectives. This role works closely with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure quality and timeliness of releases, monitor progress during release windows, identify areas for improvement through testing feedback, and develop reports to communicate release performance to leadership.
Responsibilities
* Plan, coordinate, communicate, schedule, and facilitate software releases to meet business objectives.
* Collaborate with development, QA, operations, and change management teams to ensure readiness and quality.
* Monitor and communicate release progress, identify risks, and escalate issues as needed.
* Facilitate release meetings and maintain release calendars.
* Review testing outcomes and work with QA to address defects and improvement opportunities.
* Develop and maintain release documentation, including release notes and rollback plans.
* Produce reports on release performance and communicate findings to leadership.
* Evaluate compliance with policies and best practices.
* Suggest continuous improvement initiatives for release processes.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
* 4+ years of experience in release coordination, change management, or related IT governance roles.
* Familiarity with SDLC processes and testing practices.
* Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, or similar for tracking and documentation.
