About the Role: Key Responsibilities: - COBALT COMMUNICATIONS, an established and fast-growing company in St. Louis, Missouri, is searching for a highly-motivated individual for the position of Front-End Designer,. - Have a passion for web design and extensive knowledge of how websites work - Have an eye for aesthetics and attention to details when designing web pages - Collaborate with project managers and developers to create web pages that are balanced in both beauty and function - Produce highly functional, creative, and exceptional websites following the latest UI/UX trends and best practices - Manage tight deadlines and high-volume workload REQUIREMENTS: - Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JSON, JavaScript and jQuery without the need for WYSIWYG editors - Experience with strategic design of both static (HTML) and dynamic (database-driven) websites - Strong grasp of the latest User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design principles - Experience publishing, customizing and maintaining WordPress websites and its underlying technologies (PHP & MySQL) - Experience developing web pages with SEO in mind, including optimizing for performance and accessibility - Working knowledge of REST APIs to exchange information with different backend systems and integrate third-party services or content into the design - Experience creating mobile interfaces using responsive web design - Strong knowledge and experience creating web graphics and layouts with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or similar high-end graphics software - Familiarity with Google Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics, Bing Webmaster Tools & other performance/metrics/management platforms - Knowledge of ASP.NET/MVC/Razor/Bootstrap - Plus: Knowledge of Shopify E-Commerce platform, including its Liquid scripting language QUALIFICATIONS: - College degree in graphic design, electronic media, web design, or related degree - Professional web design experiences.
