Storage Management Engineer – Residency Service
Responsibilities
* Execute system administration tasks for storage environments.
* Perform firmware and OS upgrades (Data ONTAP) and provide recommendations.
* Implement and upgrade Operations Manager (OM) and monitor storage systems.
* Conduct on-site diagnostics and coordinate hardware replacements.
* Interface with Global Support teams (GSC) and facilitate case resolution.
* Lead test planning and execution, including environment documentation.
* Prepare weekly status reports and perform daily system monitoring.
* Manage Return Material Authorizations (RMA) and coordinate parts handling.
* Analyze AutoSupport data and perform case trend analysis.
* Provide proactive service management, including patch and release planning.
* Support DR, data archival, and data migration planning.
* Advise on software patches, field alerts, and next-step recommendations.
* Participate in change management meetings and assist in modifying scripts.
Requirements
* Strong experience with enterprise storage systems (preferably NetApp technologies).
* Hands-on experience with system upgrades, monitoring tools, diagnostics, and hardware replacement workflows.
* Familiarity with AutoSupport, Operations Manager (OM), firmware/ONTAP management.
* Experience collaborating with support centers and technical support engineers.
* Ability to perform trend analysis, process evaluation, and documentation.
* Understanding of DR, data migration, and archival strategies.
* Availability for a standard 40-hour work week (Monday–Friday, business hours).
* Ability to work on-site or remotely, depending on customer needs.
* Strong communication skills to support technical discussions, reporting, and user coordination.
