Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Emerging Markets FX Trader with deep expertise in African and/or Latin American currencies to join our global trading & liquidity team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing illiquid and restricted FX markets, executing OTC and interbank trades, and designing robust hedging and liquidity frameworks to support high-volume cross-border payment flows. This role requires both strong trading capability and infrastructure expertise, including building and optimizing FX trading systems, hedging engines, and liquidity connectivity with banks, brokers, and OTC counterparties.Key ResponsibilitiesFX Trading & Liquidity ManagementManage proprietary and flow-driven FX trading positions across Emerging Market currencies, with a focus on African (e.g., NGN, KES, ZAR, GHS) or LATAM (e.g., BRL, MXN, COP, ARS) markets.Source and maintain deep liquidity relationships with banks, brokers, and OTC desks across relevant regions.Execute spot, forwards, NDFs, swaps, and OTC trades to optimize execution quality and manage currency exposure.Monitor market developments, capital controls, and liquidity dynamics across EM FX markets.Hedging Strategy & Risk ManagementDesign and implement FX hedging strategies to manage corporate or client-driven exposures.Optimize hedging efficiency across multiple liquidity venues including banks, ECNs, OTC desks, and crypto liquidity pools where relevant.Develop models for dynamic hedging, inventory risk management, and spread optimization.Monitor risk limits, PnL, and exposure across currency books.Trading Infrastructure & SystemsWork closely with engineering and product teams to build and enhance FX trading and hedging infrastructure, including:Automated hedging enginesLiquidity aggregation systemsSmart order routingPricing and risk management toolsIntegrate connectivity with banks, ECNs, and liquidity providers via APIs or FIX protocols.Improve execution automation, latency optimization, and real-time exposure monitoring.Market DevelopmentIdentify and onboard new liquidity providers and OTC trading partners across emerging markets.Build pricing frameworks for illiquid currency pairs and support new corridor launches.Contribute to the development of scalable FX infrastructure supporting global payments and settlement flows.RequirementsExperience5–10+ years of FX trading experience in Emerging Markets.Strong experience trading African or LATAM currencies, such as:Africa: NGN, KES, ZAR, GHS, EGPLATAM: BRL, MXN, COP, CLP, ARSExperience working at:Global banksEM FX trading firmsPayment / fintech companiesCrypto exchanges or market makersProven experience executing OTC and institutional-sized FX trades.Technical ExpertiseDeep understanding of:FX market microstructure in illiquid marketsNDF markets and offshore hedgingCapital controls and FX regulatory frameworksHands-on experience building or optimizing:FX trading systemsHedging enginesLiquidity aggregation platformsFamiliarity with FIX connectivity, API-based trading systems, and algorithmic execution.SkillsStrong quantitative and analytical capabilities.Ability to operate in high-volatility and fragmented liquidity environments.Strong network within EM FX liquidity providers and OTC trading desks.Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting high-volume cross-border payment flows or treasury operations.Experience trading EM FX through both traditional banks and alternative liquidity sources.Familiarity with stablecoin / crypto liquidity markets in emerging economies.Background in building or scaling FX market-making operations.Strong analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to operate across global teams and fast paced environmentsVision & MissionOSL is the first SFC-licensed digital asset platform in Hong Kong and a PayFi innovator.
