Job Summary:
The primary function of this position is to serve as an Instrument Operations Technician.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in basic process plant operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting, particularly in process instrumentation and controls or electrical equipment.

Principal Responsibilities:
Safety: Follow safety policies, participate in safety meetings, and apply hazardous work permit, lockout-tagout, and management of change procedures.
Supervise contractors.
Reliability and Maintenance: Support inventory management, operate tools and equipment safely, prioritize work, calibrate analyzers, troubleshoot instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems (once certified).
Process Operation and Efficiency: Assist in plant shutdowns, startups, and changes; utilize CMMS (SAP); troubleshoot process issues; perform water treatment analysis; accept on-call duties.
Required Skills:
Basic algebra, fractions, percentages, unit conversions
Proficiency with personal computers
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently
Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools
Knowledge of chemical manufacturing hazards and electrical safety
Ability to interpret engineering drawings (P&IDs, PFDs)
Basic preventive maintenance skills
Operation of forklifts, overhead cranes, or man lifts
ISA Level 1 certification (or related technical degree or military training)
Plan to obtain ISA Level 1 certification within two years of hire
Qualifications:
HSD or GED
At least 3 years of relevant experience in process plant operations or maintenance
Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working at heights up to 200 ft
Valid driver's license
Compensation: Instrument Operation Technicians in Keyes, CA earn between $34.56 - $50.69 per hour.
