Transform Video Content into Persuasive Advertisements
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced video editor to join our team as a Direct Response Video Editor. In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-quality video advertisements that drive sales and conversions.
Key Responsibilities
* Transform raw creator footage, user-generated content (UGC) clips, and b-roll into persuasive short-form ads (15-90 seconds) and video sales letters (VSLs)
* Craft hooks that stop viewers in the first 3 seconds using pattern interrupts, bold claims, and visual glitches
* Deploy engagement disruptors such as kinetic typography, callout graphics, progress bars, and emoji reactions
* Optimize pacing for platform algorithms (Meta 9:16, YouTube Shorts)
* A/B test visual approaches based on performance data
Requirements
* Strong level of fluent English fluency
* 2+ years editing experience for direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands, preferably in the beauty, health, or supplement industry
* Portfolio demonstrating successful direct response ads that drove conversions
* Expert-level proficiency in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, as well as After Effects
* Deep understanding of Meta/YouTube Shorts specs and algorithm-friendly editing patterns
* Native fluency with UGC aesthetics versus polished brand content
* Proven ability to produce 8-12 ads per week without compromising quality
* Ability to think critically and recommend new approaches, ad formats, and tools
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience editing short-form VSLs or long-form VSLs
* Motion design skills in After Effects or Cinema 4D
* Understanding of direct response copywriting principles
* Familiarity with CapCut, Descript, or AI editing tools
