Coremont Infrastructure (Desktop) Engineering Team
Coremont provides integrated front-to-back office services to investment managers and financial institutions. It is authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in the United Kingdom. Coremont's service offering encompasses the full asset management lifecycle, including a portfolio management system, risk analysis, operations (trade processing, fund accounting, and treasury services), compliance support, and investor relations services. The business spun out from Brevan Howard Asset Management in 2018, which remains a key client.
The Infrastructure (desktop) Engineering team is primarily responsible for maintaining and engineering the firm's global desktop and VDI environment, along with various on-premise and cloud-based end-user services.
Responsibilities
1. Software packaging and rollout, with support documentation and knowledge transfer.
2. Development, configuration, and support of on-premise and cloud-based end-user services (e.g., Microsoft 365).
3. Including application, endpoint, and mobile device management.
4. Providing escalated support and troubleshooting of the VMWare Horizon VDI environment.
5. Active Directory and Entra ID configuration, maintenance, and administration.
6. Providing 3rd line support for the desktop environment, applications, and hardware.
7. Managing vulnerability and software updates for Microsoft and third-party applications, OS, and hardware.
8. Managing, monitoring, and maintaining file transfer services for internal and external clients.
9. Conducting proactive performance and reliability analysis to improve the desktop environment continuously.
10. Collaborating with internal and external customers/vendors to obtain information regarding applications for packaging, problem-solving, or escalation.
Mandatory Skills
* Experience with software packaging using MECM / Intune.
* Strong knowledge of Linux.
* PowerShell scripting skills.
* Advanced VDI administration and troubleshooting skills.
* Advanced Active Directory administration, including GPO and Intune.
* Understanding of control principles such as release and change management.
* Experience working with best practice methodologies such as ITIL.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 2016 / 365.
* Good understanding of build and client distribution architectures (MECM).
Nice-to-Have Skills
* Experience with VMWare Horizon.
* Knowledge of other scripting languages.
* Support of Configuration Manager.
