Position Scope The Freight Desk Manager is a high-impact leadership role responsible for architecting and overseeing the logistics support function for non-finished goods on a global scale, with a dedicated focus on the LATAM region. This position operates at the intersection of global procurement and operational execution, managing a complex ecosystem of freight forwarders, control towers, and internal stakeholders. The mission is to ensure world-class shipment execution and financial integrity through robust audit structures and the expansion of logistics capabilities in high-growth markets. Responsibilities and Accountabilities Regional Strategy & Expansion: Serve as the primary architect for logistics operations in LATAM, including the enablement of Importer of Record (IOR) operations and regional supplier onboarding. Global Freight Desk Leadership: Lead the logistics support function for specialized shipments, managing a network of global freight forwarders operating through dedicated control towers. Rate Card Governance: Standardize and maintain global Bulk Air and Ocean rate cards across a diverse portfolio of international suppliers to ensure cost consistency and transparency. Strategic Sourcing: Lead RFQs and supplier onboarding initiatives for logistics, ensuring all partners meet global compliance and service level standards. Governance & Audit Architecture: Design and maintain a global freight audit strategy and control architecture to ensure financial discipline across high-volume global invoice environments. Control Tower Oversight: Drive operational excellence by governing forwarder performance, ensuring industry-leading on-time shipment execution across all transport modes. Automation & Process Engineering: Implement automated invoice approval systems and systemic controls to improve first-pass yield and overall operational efficiency. Stakeholder Management: Partner with global cross-functional teams to support non-standard logistics requirements and rapid-response delivery programs. Mandatory Requirements Experience: Extensive experience in Global Supply Management, Logistics Procurement, or Supply Chain Operations within multinational environments. Regional Expertise: Deep knowledge of the LATAM logistics landscape, including regulatory requirements, customs, and supplier networks. Procurement Mastery: Proven track record in leading RFQs and managing complex logistics supplier onboarding processes. Network Management: Experience managing large-scale global freight forwarder relationships and \"Control Tower\" operational models. Technical Proficiency: Strong background in Logistics Financial Control (Freight Audit) and managing high-volume, global-scale invoice environments. Leadership: Experience leading international teams and managing external providers across different time zones (APAC, EMEA, AMR). Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field. Languages: Fluency in English is essential for regional and global coordination. Desirable Requirements Advanced Education: MBA or Master’s degree. Process Excellence: Certifications in Lean Six Sigma or similar experience.
