The Business Unit Leader leads their team towards success in creating sustainable people, profit, and planet value, by adopting the following roles:


1. Member of the Operations team

The Business Unit Leader aspires to drive the performance of the Shop first, even before their own Business Unit. They are actively involved in:

1. Sharing best practices between Business Units and contributing to Plant performance in a collaborative manner, maintaining a "ONE MANUFACTURING TEAM" mindset.
2. Detecting and developing talents to grow their careers in the Shop, including exporting talent to support business needs.
3. Supporting Shop decisions despite uncertainties or unfavorable circumstances impacting their Business Unit.
4. Improving Business Unit performance through regular coaching and feedback.
5. Providing input and recommendations on support team members' performance and development.


2. People developer

The Business Unit Leader is passionate about people development, viewing their plant as a platform for recruitment, training, and professional growth. They are expected to:

1. Promote a lifelong learning mindset through competency evaluations and development opportunities.
2. Ensure development via Spoke training and social promotion projects.
3. Utilize accessible career paths for all employees.
4. Build and value diverse teams.
5. Support competency development through mentoring and coaching.


3. Representative/Role model of the Company values, purpose & strategy

The Business Unit Leader embodies the Plant's values and represents the group to employees. They:

1. Live out values and inspire through behavior.
2. Motivate teams using Michelin purpose & Dream.
3. Ensure team understanding of Plant strategy and individual roles in collective success.
4. Align the shop's vision and engage teams to realize it.
5. Address employee issues timely and ensure accurate attendance records.
6. Develop safety as a core value, with each employee responsible for safety.


4. Customer & business partner

The Business Unit Leader understands customer needs and guides teams to be customer-centric. They are expected to:

1. Understand customer requirements and their role in meeting expectations.
2. Focus on all aspects of economic value creation.
3. Support business through collaboration on industrialization, digitalization, and transformations.


5. Environment promoter

The Business Unit Leader actively promotes sustainability and environmental impact reduction by:

1. Fostering a culture that values sustainability.
2. Implementing strategies for environmental impact and biodiversity.


6. ICARE & Empowerment role model

They strive to lead with the ICARE leadership model, inspiring and coaching their team to:

1. Inspire passion for ICARE at all levels.
2. Create inclusion, safety, collaboration, and collective intelligence.
3. Foster empowerment, responsibility, and participation in plant evolution.


7. Operational Excellence Leader

They ensure operational excellence by:

1. Applying MMW practices to drive activities.
2. Continuously seeking progress through variation and waste reduction.
3. Achieving SMQDC performance and standards compliance.
4. Empowering teams, increasing autonomy, and developing competencies.
5. Using sound problem-solving methodologies to address root causes.


8. Digital and Innovation contributor

They adopt innovation and technology to transform and excel by:

1. Encouraging digital application use and data-driven approaches.
2. Building foundations for transformation, including data quality and organizational readiness.
3. Supporting projects that develop capabilities aligned with strategy and sharing best practices.
