Position Overview:
As a Senior Backend Engineer (PHP/Laravel), you will play a key role in the development and implementation of scalable and robust software solutions to support the company's mission and goals. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain innovative applications and platforms that drive business success and improve patient outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Platform Development: Spearhead the development and optimization of our EHR platform using PHP/Laravel, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.
* Database Development: Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
* API Development and Integration: Develop and maintain APIs for internal and external use, facilitating seamless integration with other healthcare systems and third-party services.
* Security Compliance: Ensure the platform's compliance with healthcare industry standards, including HIPAA, by implementing and maintaining robust security measures and data protection protocols.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Mentor junior developers, providing guidance on best practices in backend development, code review, and team collaboration.
* Stay abreast of new technology trends and evaluate their application to continually innovate and enhance the platform.
* Participate in the agile development process, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software.
* Collaborate with the design team to refine the platform's user interface and experience, implementing responsive and intuitive front-end functionalities using modern JavaScript frameworks.
Competencies/Requirements:
* Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in PHP/Laravel and MySQL. Familiarity with version control tools, preferably Git.
* Experience: At least 5 years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of developing and maintaining scalable web applications. Experience in the healthcare sector or EHR platforms is highly desirable.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to tackle complex problems, think analytically, and develop innovative solutions.
