Product Designer Position
The Role of Product Designer is to define and lead the design experiences across three core products--web and mobile. This includes taking ideas from concept to completion, conducting research, managing usability testing sessions, gathering feedback, and refining designs.
This role requires a strong bias for action, scrappiness, flexibility, and willingness to pivot in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with engineers to ensure designs are feasible, scope appropriately, and account for edge cases and error states. Effective communication and collaboration skills are crucial for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
* Define and lead the design experiences across three core products
* Taking ideas from concept to completion
* Conducting and managing full research process from planning and scheduling to execution and synthesis
* Leading usability testing sessions, gathering feedback, and refining designs
Required Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of 4 years of experience in Product/UX Design, fluency in English, and good taste in visual design. A strong portfolio with concrete examples of designing and shipping complex web or mobile interfaces is also required. Proficiency with Figma and ability to translate requirements and ideas into simple design solutions are necessary. Experience designing for similar users (Nurses, Senior Care Professionals) is preferred.
Work Environment:
The team is distributed, but generally located in North and South America (United States and Brazil). Work hours are flexible, but regular meetings are expected. The team relies heavily on Figma, Slack, Linear, and Notion for collaboration. As a contractor, you will be paid as such, with the option to set up your company in Brazil or have one established there to enable compensation.
Interview Process
The interview process consists of an asynchronous portfolio review, a small project, and potential follow-up interviews with the founder and Head of Engineering. The asynchronous portfolio review involves creating a 15-minute video walking through a relevant project that demonstrates your skills and experience related to the role. For the small project, you will be given product context and asked to come up with low-fidelity designs for a user experience addressing a specific problem. This project will be presented during a 1-hour interview with leadership.
