Overview The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all tax related decisions and activities in the organization. You will help us stay tax-compliant and up-to-date on new tax laws. And if you can provide accounting expertise to Brazilian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), it'll be better. So that, they can prepare accurate statutory financial statements under Brazilian GAAP (CPC), meet all federal, state and municipal tax obligations, and remain audit-ready at minimal cost. Key Responsibilities Compute and file monthly IRPJ, CSLL, PIS, COFINS (non-cumulative or cumulative), and ICMS/IPI/ISS as applicable. Prepare and transmit SPED Fiscal, SPED Contábil, ECF, DCTF and DACON via government portals. Monitor e-invoice (NF-e) issuance, validate tax codes, and reconcile to GL. Calculate payroll taxes (INSS, FGTS, IRRF), 13th salary, vacation accruals and severance provisions. Ensure eSocial and RAIS filings are complete and on time. Represent the company before federal, state and municipal tax authorities; manage small audits and refund claims. Provide ad-hoc advice on business restructurings, new product lines or cross-border transactions. Statutory Accounting & Reporting Maintain complete bookkeeping in compliance with Brazilian GAAP (CPC) and prepare monthly trial balances, balance sheets, income statements and cash-flow statements. Generate year-end statutory financial statements ready for external auditor review and filing with the Junta Comercial. Map IFRS vs. CPC differences and explain impacts to owners/investors in plain language. Implement or optimise cloud accounting packages (QuickBooks Online, ContaAzul, Omie, ERPNext, SAP Business One). Automate recurring journal entries, bank reconciliations and tax filings. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Tax; active CRC registration. 4 years preparing full-cycle statutory accounts and tax returns for Brazilian SMEs. Deep working knowledge of IRPJ, CSLL, ICMS, IPI, ISS, PIS/COFINS regimes and SPED suites. Hands-on experience with at least one local cloud-accounting or ERP system and government tax software (PGDAS, Sicalc, SPED). Fluent Portuguese; conversational English preferred.
