Open position: Aeronautical Engineer – Structural Design & MaterialsJoin us, and let’s create a safer, more connected world together!Job Title: Aeronautical Engineer – Structural Design & Materials (Mid-career)Reports To: R&D Program ManagerAbout the Role:In this role, you will be part of a team focused on developing new products and delivering high-quality technical solutions that meet international standards. You will collaborate with local and international colleagues and partners in a multidisciplinary environment.This position involves designing aircraft structures. The ideal candidate should have experience with structural design methods, calculation procedures, and a strong understanding of aircraft materials.You must be able to independently conduct load analysis, stress calculation, fatigue and vibration analysis, material selection, and be proficient in documentation and prototyping.You will be the focal point for improving the structural design of existing aircraft and proposing modifications. Additionally, you will support flight test campaigns.Key Responsibilities:Analyze aircraft mission requirements and develop detailed product specifications.Design structures for small aircraft and drones, ensuring compliance with regulations across operational environments.Propose and conduct tests and simulations for design validation; participate in flight test campaigns.Develop test rigs and computational simulations for structural validation and verification.Perform material selection and compatibility analysis based on mission and performance needs.Serve as the focal point for aeronautical structural engineering.Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams.Implement structural modifications for existing aircraft.Communicate effectively with local and international partners and multidisciplinary teams.Identify and mitigate risks related to aircraft structural integrity and design.Qualifications (must have):Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.Strong knowledge of aeronautical structural design, including loads, weight and balance, flight envelopes (V-n), finite element analysis, stress, fatigue, and vibration.Experience in analyzing and selecting materials for small aircraft and drones, including composites, metals, plastics, and others.Understanding of airframe configuration optimization, load and stress analysis, material properties, manufacturing processes, tooling, and structural in-service requirements.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.Strong communication skills to present technical findings clearly.Fluent in English for international collaboration.Desirable Skills (nice to have):At least 5 years of experience in aircraft/drone structural design and materials selection.Proficiency in calculation tools (e.g., MS Excel) and familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python).Understanding of industry standards and regulations.Experience in the drone industry.Familiarity with prototyping techniques.Knowledge of emerging technologies in aerospace or drones (e.g., AI, machine learning, autonomous systems).Why Join Us:At Modirum Gespi, we foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
