We create products across all areas of software — from web and mobile apps to cutting-edge work at the forefront of AI and large language models.About The RoleAs a Lead Fullstack Engineer, you’ll lead engineering for one or more initiatives at Sierra. You’ll architect the stack, write clean code, and work with your teammates to do whatever it takes to ship great products. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to take products from idea to production. As an early employee at a startup, you’ll also be part of creating our culture!Here’s a taste of what you could do at Sierra!Client projects: Work with a startup founder to build the MVP of their ideaInternal projects: Build an internal AI tool to transform our own workflowsHiring: Help us grow our team and interview future candidatesLeadership: Mentor other engineers to level up our teamOur ideal candidate is a generalist software engineer who loves to learn new things fast!We care about the ability to learn quickly and lead projects from idea to production more than any specific skills, but here are some preferred qualifications:5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 1 year in a lead roleGrowth mindset: able to quickly learn new languages, frameworks, and moreExperience with end-to-end product development, from idea to productionFrontend experience: TypeScript, ReactBackend experience: TypeScript or Python, Node.js or FastAPIExperience with databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc)Strong written and verbal communicator in EnglishAbility to accurately estimate timelines and scopeBonus: Experience using AI tools for coding (e.g. Cursor)Cool side projects that you’d like to show us!Growth mindset: We look to magnify our strengths, take chances, and always learn from our mistakes.Supportive: We keep our egos out of the workplace and support each other when trying new things.Product & customer centric: We care deeply about our customers and clients and always keep their needs top of mind.
