Introduction
We are seeking a Supervisor of Production to join our team in the Scrapyard, Steelworks, and Casting department. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of electric and induction furnaces, leading the team, and ensuring the fulfillment of production plans, HSE standards, and procedures.
This position reports to the Production Coordinator and is located in Sorocaba, SP, at the Foundry unit, with up to 10% national and/or international travel.
Team Description
You will join a team of fusion and refining process managers in the steelworks (electric and induction furnaces), focusing on operational safety, metallurgical quality, refractories, and team development dedicated to scrap selection, steel production, and casting with safety and quality.
We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as suppliers and customers (internal and external).
Responsibilities
* Operational Management: Supervise the operation of electric arc and induction furnaces.
* Acompany production parameters, temperature, and chemical composition.
* Validate production reports and efficiency indicators (OEE, availability, energy consumption).
* People Management: Lead, develop, and schedule the team.
* Conduct continuous technical training in furnace operation, safety, and quality.
* Apply performance evaluations and individual development plans.
* Quality and Process: Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and internal procedures.
* Investigate and address non-conformities with corrective actions.
* Maintenance and Reliability: Supervise scheduled stops for component replacement with maintenance.
* Supervise scheduled stops for refractory replacement with the refractory team.
* Inspect crucible, lining, and heating system conditions.
* Participate in root cause analyses of operational failures.
* Improvement Projects: Optimize energy and raw material consumption.
* Implement improvements in safety and operational procedures.
* Projects to reduce costs and increase productivity.
* HSE and Compliance: Ensure compliance with work safety standards and internal work standards.
* Develop safety projects focused on ergonomics and quality of life in the sector.
* Supervise and manage PPE, working conditions, and safety procedures.
Requirements
* Complete graduation in Engineering (Metallurgy, Materials, Mechanics, Production, or Chemistry) or Technologist in Metallurgical Processes.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in casting or steelworks processes, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or team coordination position.
* Proven experience with electric arc furnace and induction furnace operation or general fusion furnaces.
* Experience in managing production, quality, and safety indicators.
