We are a team providing specialty care for patients with Crohn's and Colitis, and the infusion room offers a vital service to our patients by initiating and administering biologics and other therapeutic medication to transform their lives.Specialist nurses and pharmacists work side by side in the infusion room and pride themselves on sharing their skill and knowledge to improve patient care and develop the nurses working with them.
The team in IBD strives to give the best individualised holistic care possible and would welcome any individuals that feel they can adopt this principle in practice.We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration.
If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship, we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.Main duties of the jobAssess the needs of patients receiving therapy and ensure all care is provided.
Management of day unit appointments and scheduling with the support of the Senior nurse.
Providing emotional support to patients and families who are coping with long-term chronic conditions, which have an impact on their daily lives.
To support the IBD advice line and seek guidance from senior CNSs or Medical Team where appropriate before providing advice to patients and other healthcare professionals who contact the Gastroenterology advice line service.
Attend MDT meetings and virtual biologic clinics, if required.
Keeping patients and relatives always informed.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation via the database and electronic patient record system.
Committed to providing a safe, high-quality service.
Work with professions allied to nursing to ensure a unified approach to Gastroenterology care.
Maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

The post holder will be expected to carry out care without the need for direct supervision but will be supported by the senior IBD nurse.
The post holder will be responsible for regular audit of clinical practice and assisting in educational programmes.
