DB Cleaning Services is seeking an experienced **Controller** to oversee all financial and accounting functions for our group of companies. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with financial regulations, leading the finance team, and providing accurate financial reports to support strategic decision-making. The Controller will work closely with the CFO and manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Financial Reporting**: Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
**- Strategic Financial Planning**: Collaborate with the CFO to develop financial strategies and align them with business goals.
**- Month-End and Year-End Closing**: Manage closing processes to ensure all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
**- Accounts Payable & Receivable**: Oversee AP/AR processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
**- Budgeting & Forecasting**: Develop the annual budget and financial forecasts with quarterly reviews and updates.
**- Compliance & Internal Controls**: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal audits, and external audits.
**- Risk Management**: Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
**- Team Leadership**: Lead and mentor the finance team, including payroll, AR, AP, and bookkeeping staff.
**- Tax & External Reporting**: Work with external CPAs on tax filings and ensure compliance with statutory reporting.
**Day-to-Day Activities**:
- Review and approve financial reports and payroll data.
- Conduct weekly meetings with the finance team to ensure AP/AR, payroll, and month-end closing processes are running smoothly.
- Analyze variances between actuals and budgeted figures, presenting findings to the CFO.
- Ensure all compliance reports and tax filings are submitted on time.
- Mentor finance staff, providing training opportunities and performance evaluations.
- Manage communication with external auditors, vendors, and customers regarding payment disputes and financial audits.
**Skills & Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 8+ years of proven experience as a Controller or similar role in financial management.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
- Experience managing financial teams and implementing internal controls.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks), ERP systems and Excel.
