Role Overview
The Project Director is responsible for overseeing a program or portfolio of clinical studies or large global multicenter trials with substantial budgets. The portfolio may include studies for specific clients or therapeutic areas. The Project Director manages Project Managers (PMs) handling projects of varying sizes and complexities, from single-service studies to large, multi-protocol, global projects. They contribute operationally to proposal development and business activities, applying their therapeutic and project management expertise.

Responsibilities
* Oversee a portfolio of projects and the Project Managers executing them
* Ensure studies meet therapeutic and client requirements
* Represent the company to clients, maintaining satisfaction and effective communication
* Ensure compliance with quality standards, SOPs, GCPs, and regulatory requirements
* Manage project budgets and expenses
* Track project progress using timelines and analysis tools
* Maintain therapeutic and client-specific expertise
* Lead contingency planning and risk mitigation
* Contribute to proposal development and operational strategies
* Drive performance improvements and operational efficiencies
* Provide line management and leadership in project management
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; Master's preferred
* PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus
* Minimum 15 years industry experience, with at least 5 years at a CRO
* At least 10 years of clinical project management experience, including managing multi-region, multi-phase studies
* Experience leading multinational phase III trials and managing project budgets
* Experience mentoring project managers and business development
* Line management experience is desirable
* Dermatology experience is an asset
Knowledge and Skills
* Strong knowledge of GCP, FDA, Health Canada regulations
