At WorldFirst, our mission is to make it easy to do business anywhere. As we expand our footprint in Latin America, we are seeking a China Desk Officer to serve as the primary liaison and specialized support hub for all China-related business activities in the region.

This role acts as a strategic bridge between our global teams and Chinese partners, clients, and internal stakeholders. You will facilitate cross-border collaboration, market entry, and seamless execution of initiatives for Chinese clients looking to thrive in the Brazil and Mexico markets. Leveraging deep knowledge of WorldFirst’s LATAM operational capabilities and local regulations, you will ensure a smooth onboarding experience and drive long-term business success.


Key Responsibilities


1. Strategic Liaison & Communication

* Serve as the central point of contact for Chinese clients and internal partners to enable efficient collaboration.
* Provide trilingual communication support (Mandarin - English - Portuguese/Spanish) for meetings, documents, and high-level negotiations.
* Coordinate cross-border calls and visits between global leadership and Chinese counterparts.


2. Market & Regulatory Advisory

* Monitor market trends and regulatory changes in both China and LATAM (e.g., trade regulations, data privacy, and payment compliance).
* Provide actionable insights to help Chinese clients navigate the LATAM landscape and vice versa.


3. Business Development & Partnerships

* Support the identification of new Chinese client opportunities, assisting the BD team with tailored proposals and pitch materials.
* Manage and deepen relationships with existing Chinese entities, ensuring alignment with WorldFirst’s strategic goals.
* Drive the execution of China-desk business to achieve annual revenue KPIs and performance targets.


4. Cultural & Strategic Excellence

* Advise global teams on Chinese business etiquette and communication styles to enhance cross-cultural synergy.
* Assist senior leadership with China-specific strategic considerations, including risk factors and growth priorities.
* Support internal training on the LATAM regulatory environment for Chinese business teams.


Required Qualifications & Skills

* Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Finance, Economics, or Marketing (Master’s degree is a plus).
* Language Proficiency: * Native or near-native Mandarin Chinese (Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing).
* Fluent English (Able to communicate effectively with global stakeholders).
* Experience: 1–3 years of relevant experience in a China Desk role, international business, or cross-border liaison. Experience in the Payment Service Provider (PSP) or Fintech industry is highly preferred.

* Deep understanding of China’s business culture and the LATAM regulatory framework.
* Goal-oriented mindset with the ability to work under pressure and meet revenue targets.
* Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
