About the role
This role involves leading consumer data initiatives, focusing on data collection, quality, and usability across digital platforms. You will bridge business analytics needs with technical data infrastructure, ensuring accurate and reliable data for reporting and machine learning.
The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and analytics. You will oversee data tracking systems, governance frameworks, and continuous improvements in data processes. The role also includes guiding teams and ensuring high standards in data integrity and accessibility.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with stakeholders (product, marketing, content managers) to translate business analytics requirements into technical specifications.
* Work with enterprise data architects to define data plans, tracking requirements, and specifications for analytics.
* Partner with front-end developers to implement event tracking systems.
* Review and approve tracking implementations to ensure consistency and accuracy.
* Guide data quality analysts to investigate and resolve data issues.
* Collaborate with data scientists, BI engineers, and analytics teams to ensure data usability.
* Establish and maintain data quality standards and governance frameworks.
* Design and implement data validation processes for consumer behavioral data.
* Develop automated data quality checks and alerting systems (e.g., dashboards).
* Establish best practices for data instrumentation across web and mobile applications.
* Lead the design and implementation of consumer data collection frameworks.
* Drive continuous improvements in data infrastructure and processes.
* Ensure data lineage documentation and metadata management.
Must have skills
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
* 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, software engineering, or related roles.
* 3+ years of experience managing consumer data from digital applications and websites.
* 5+ years of Program Management experience
* Strong proficiency in SQL.
* Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
* Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
* Knowledge of customer data platforms (CDPs) and data collection methods (SDKs, cookies, pixels, APIs).
* Experience with event tracking frameworks and multi-partner integrations.
* Understanding of web and mobile analytics tools (Amplitude, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel).
* Understanding of data privacy regulations.
* Knowledge of A/B testing frameworks and experimentation platforms.
* Experience with cloud data lake solutions (AWS S3, Glue, Athena, Azure Data Lake, Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery).
* Proven experience leading technical teams and cross-functional projects.
* Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
* Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
* Front-end experience in mobile and web development (2+ years).
* Organized with excellent communication skills.
* Willingness to complete a background check.
Conditions
* 100% Remote role, primary timezone UTC-4, with at least 6 hours overlap required.
* Contractor role, 3-month contract, renewable.
* Full-time dedication (40 hours/week).
