Podcast Audio Editor Job Description
As a Podcast Audio Editor, you will be responsible for editing podcast audio files, enhancing sound quality, and implementing sound design to ensure overall quality control for each episode. You will work closely with the content team to maintain brand consistency and meet deadlines efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Edit raw podcast audio into polished, broadcast-ready episodes.
* Remove filler words, false starts, redundancies, and off-topic tangents.
* Improve pacing, clarity, and flow without changing the speaker's voice or intent.
* Restructure sections when needed based on how questions were answered.
* Insert intro/outro, sponsor reads, disclaimers, or updates when required.
* Follow embedded audio notes and written instructions carefully.
* Deliver clean final WAV/MP3 files on deadline.
* Produce 3–4 short clips per episode for marketing use.
* Support up to two rounds of edits per episode when requested.
Requirements:
This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. You should have experience with audio editing software and be able to implement sound design principles to enhance the overall listening experience.
