What you will do:
As a Project Engineer, you will lead and deliver complex, cross-functional manufacturing and industrial projects within Powertrain Industrial, from early concept and feasibility through industrialization and handover to operations. You will act as a key integrator between technology, manufacturing engineering, product development, and the broader organization, ensuring projects deliver business value, quality, cost, timing, and sustainability objectives.
You are expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, influence senior stakeholders, manage uncertainty, and actively drive change in a dynamic industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities

Lead complex manufacturing engineering and industrialization projects end-to-end, ensuring alignment with business strategy and portfolio priorities.
Establish effective project governance and control execution across scope, timing, cost, quality, resources, and risks.
Represent TTI PI (Trucks Technology & Industrial – Powertrain Industrial) in project teams and networks, driving cross-functional alignment.
Manage stakeholders and interfaces across Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development, Purchasing, Quality, Logistics, and other impacted areas.
Proactively manage risks, changes and performance, ensuring timely decisions and corrective actions.
Build and lead high-performing project teams in a matrix environment.
Own project budgets and resource utilization, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
Ensure early industrial integration and support a smooth transition to serial production.
Communicate project status, risks, and decisions clearly to stakeholders and steering committees.

You thrive in environments with ambiguity, multiple stakeholders and high expectations, and you are motivated by delivering tangible results.
Your Profile
Experience & Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field; MBA or postgraduate studies in Project Management are a strong advantage.
Minimum 5+ years of experience leading complex projects; experience in manufacturing, industrialization or automotive is a strong plus.
Proven track record of successfully delivering projects with multiple stakeholders and significant business impact.

Project Management Expertise

Strong command of project management disciplines: planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and governance.
Knowledge and practical application of different project management methodologies (predictive, hybrid and/or agile).

Technical & Industrial Knowledge

Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
Knowledge of Volvo products, processes and systems is considered a differential.

Leadership & Communication

Excellent leadership, facilitation and influencing skills in a matrix and multicultural environment.
Strong stakeholder management and communication capabilities at all organizational levels.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Curious mindset with a continuous learning attitude toward new technologies, innovation, and ways of working.
