Your Role And Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
Design and maintain BI architecture (semantic models, reporting layers, ingestion paths).
Define standards for Power BI, SAC, Business Objects, SSAS, and Datasphere.
Review and approve data models created by BI developers.
Governance & Best Practices
Define data governance rules (RLS, column-level security, naming conventions).
Ensure compliance with BI platform standards and version control practices.
Manage capacity and performance configurations for BI platforms.
Performance & Optimization
Evaluate and optimize semantic model performance (refresh times, query efficiency).
Troubleshoot bottlenecks in BI pipelines, DAX/SQL performance, and dataset refresh failures.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment
Work with Data Engineers and Data Architects to align semantic models with source systems.
Interface with business stakeholders to translate reporting needs into architecture patterns.
Coordinate with platform teams to plan deployments and environment changes.
Oversight & Support
Review and guide BI Developers’ work to ensure architectural alignment.
Oversee testing and validation of BI models and reports.
Support SIT/UAT testing and resolve design-related defects.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
Education
Bachelor’s degree completed in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
Hard Skills
BI architecture experience using Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Business Objects, and SSAS.
Strong expertise in semantic layer design and data modeling.
Performance tuning and optimization of BI solutions, including models, queries, and refresh processes.
Data governance practices, including Row-Level Security (RLS) and access control policies.
Proficiency in SQL and DAX/M (Power Query).
Integration of BI solutions with ETL pipelines and enterprise data platforms.
Soft Skills
Strong cross-functional communication skills, working effectively with business and technical teams.
Ability to translate business KPIs and reporting needs into scalable data models and architectures.
Technical leadership and mentoring of BI developers.
Languages
Advanced English.
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
Strategy Development Expertise: Experience with developing strategies for business intelligence solutions, including aligning with business objectives and identifying opportunities for improvement. This involves analyzing business needs, defining solution requirements, and creating strategic plans for implementation.
Data Modeling Knowledge: Experience with logical and physical data modeling for business intelligence specific information, ensuring data integrity and scalability. This includes designing data architectures, creating data models, and ensuring data quality.
Performance Optimization Skills: Experience with tuning and transforming business intelligence solutions to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. This involves identifying performance bottlenecks, optimizing system configuration, and implementing best practices for performance improvement.
