Description
Amazon is establishing a NEW COSM (Central Ops Systems Management) team in Brazil—an opportunity to become a founding member of a strategic function that is the foundation of Amazon's delivery operations in the country.
What is COSM?
COSM is responsible for managing backend system configurations that underpin the entire Amazon delivery network. COSM teams around the world—including the consolidated teams from the US, Japan, and Europe—process more than 10,000 requests for configuration annually, ensuring that delivery stations, routes, and parameters are always accurate and up to date.
Key job responsibilities
Perform daily configuration requests for delivery stations (RGU configurations, jurisdictions, exclusion zones)
Process and validate configuration changes in JAS (Jurisdiction Authority Service), TEZCO, and other operating systems
Configure sort paths, pick paths, and routing parameters for various station types (Large DS, Exchange Points, Mini DS, EDSPs, and AMXL)
Monitor configuration SLAs and escape blockers for senior team members when appropriate
Support station launches, closures, and relocations with accurate system configuration
Maintain up-to-date documentation and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for configuration processes
Collaborate with Central Operations teams on scheduling and routing configurations
Validate data accuracy before implementing changes to the production environment
Participate in on‑call rotation for urgent setup needs
Track and report configuration metrics and ticket resolution times
Support testing for new automation tools and provide feedback for improvements
Assist in creating training materials and knowledge base updates
Process configuration tickets following established procedures and defined deadlines
Coordinate with station managers to understand specific configuration requirements
A day in the life
Your day begins by reviewing the queue for configuration tickets and prioritizing urgent requests. You process RGU updates for multiple stations, validating jurisdiction data and exclusion zones before implementing changes to JAS. During the morning you participate in the team's daily stand‑up, sharing progress and identifying blockers. In the afternoon you work on configurations for the launch of a new operation, coordinating with the Central Operations team to ensure that all routing parameters are correct. You test changes in the development environment before promoting them to production and spend time documenting a newly optimized configuration process, contributing to the team's knowledge base. Occasionally you receive urgent requests that require immediate action, and your ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail is essential. You end the day by updating ticket metrics and preparing a summary for the next shift on duty.
About the team

The COSM Brazil team will be part of Amazon's Central Operations (Central Ops) organization, which is responsible for ensuring that all operating systems in the delivery network work flawlessly, scalable, and efficiently. Here, you’re not just an executor—you’re an architect of the operation.
