The primary goal of the project is the modernization, maintenance, and development of an eCommerce platform for a large US-based retail company, serving millions of omnichannel customers weekly.
Solutions are delivered by multiple Product Teams focused on different domains such as Customer, Loyalty, Search and Browse, Data Integration, and Cart.
The current priorities include onboarding new brands, re-architecture, database migrations, and migrating microservices to a unified cloud-native solution without disrupting business operations.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Database Administrator with experience managing PostgreSQL in a cloud environment to optimize the performance of our client platform:
Rapid onboarding to the Customer's processes
Performance tuning requests
Handling DBA tasks related to incident tickets
Collaborating with other teams and clients to find optimal solutions
Mandatory Skills:
Availability to work until 9:00 pm CET (overtime not required)
Expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning, with and without tools/extensions
Extensive experience managing PostgreSQL in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Advanced knowledge of SQL queries, joins, functions, and procedures
Understanding of networking, infrastructure components, and PostgreSQL settings and flags
Experience with monitoring tools and workload analysis, including query benchmarking
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience working with Azure
Certifications in AWS, GCP, or Azure database management
DevOps experience and familiarity with GitHub
Experience working in distributed teams with US clients
