Imaging exams (X-ray, CT, ultrasound, ECG, echocardiography) and laboratory tests are also performed.Due to the large elderly population in the West Zone served by the hospital, there are two wards dedicated to this demographic.The Burn Treatment Center is another feature, offering an exclusive ICU to prevent infections that can be severe for burn patients.The unit also includes the Regional Emergency Coordination (CER) Santa Cruz, with 39 beds, aimed at handling less complex cases, freeing the HMPII for urgent surgery, high-risk cases, and hospitalization.
