OverviewTRACTIAN is transforming the industrial world by empowering frontline maintenance workers to achieve more. We’ve fused cutting-edge hardware with innovative software into one powerful platform, disrupting legacy systems and delivering smarter, faster solutions for our clients. At TRACTIAN, you'\'ll break boundaries, question convention, and collaborate with top talent to drive real change. As a part of our growth-stage startup, you’ll work alongside the founders, shaping the vision, products, and experiences that will define the future of industrial tech.About the Area The Manufacturing Engineering Team is the cornerstone of transforming innovation into reality. Made up of skilled professionals with diverse expertise, the team is dedicated to converting designs into high-quality, functional products. Committed to continuous improvement, we collaborate across multiple departments to ensure efficient processes, enhance R&D capabilities, and work closely with production and design teams to optimize schedules and deliveries.Among the core processes that support our daily operations, machining plays a critical role - enabling everything from rapid prototyping to low-volume production runs. This versatility positions machining as a strategic area for continuous optimization, both internally and in collaboration with our manufacturing partners. Moreover, machining is also essential to the success of injection molding, as it is the primary method used to manufacture high-precision tooling. As a result, the evolution of both processes is naturally interconnected - and their simultaneous development will be key to expanding Tractian’s industrial capabilities and accelerating innovation across our product lines. What you will doAs an R&D Machinist, you will play a key role in the manufacture of prototypes and small-batch production of parts associated with the development of new products. During the early stages of development, the engineering team may not always have full visibility into every variable of the process — that’s where your collaboration becomes essential. You will work closely with the team to assess project feasibility, understand technical requirements, and deliver high-quality prototypes as quickly and efficiently as possible.Your responsibilities will go far beyond machining. You’ll also be expected to engage in a variety of hands-on processes, including welding, component assembly, fixture design, and the ongoing enhancement of both laboratory capabilities and internal workflows. In addition to supporting prototype production, your technical feedback will be vital for improving part designs and increasing the overall quality and reliability of our manufacturing processes. As part of your role, you’ll be expected to modify, assemble, and disassemble injection molds, and continuously contribute to the evolution of the lab - bringing forward new ideas, methods, and improvements that directly support our mission of delivering exceptional IoT solutions to industries around the world.ResponsibilitiesProduce prototypes and parts on conventional lathe, milling machine, grinder and CNC milling machine, being able to not only operate them but also programing the machining with CAM;Organizing and maintaining of the lab; Maintain the stock of consumables, tools and raw materials reaching out to suppliers when needed;Conference of technical drawings and collaborate with requiring teams;Analyzing and performing simple 3D and 2D drawings on CAD;Update and keep up to date with scheduled events and requests, always notifying the requester to events or changes in the schedule;Assist and further improve development of automated robots;Assist and further improve pneumatic and hydraulic devices integrated with CAM;Verify technical drawings and collaborate with requesting teams to improve documentation.RequirementsCourse degree as a Mechanical Technician, Machining Technician, Milling or Lathe CNC programing and operation or correlated areas;Minimum 3 years of experience as machining technician;Knowledge of work safety regulations and principles;Experience with mechanical manufacturing processes, being able to produce advanced parts without supervision;Knowledge in working with special materials such as stainless steel, engineering polymers and hardened materials;Experience with metrology equipments;Basic CAD knowledge, performing simple inspections and drawings;Proficiency in Office Suite (Word and Excel) or G Suite (Google Sheets and Docs).Bonus points4th or 5th Axis Machining;Tooling dies and mold machining for injection;Basic English understanding;Experience working with Fusion 360 CAM.Compensation:Competitive salary and stock optionsOptional fully funded English / Spanish courses30 days of paid annual leaveEducation and courses stipendEmployee GivingEarn a trip anywhere in the world every 4 yearsUp to R$1.000/mo for meals and remote work allowanceHealth plan with national coverage and without coparticipationDental Insurance: we help you with dental treatment for a better quality of life.Gympass and Sports Incentive: R$300/mo extra if you practice activities
