We specialise in nature‑based project development including reforestation, agroforestry, farmer managed natural regeneration and mangrove restoration. Nature Co has extensive expertise in working with local communities to protect and restore natural ecosystems through participation in the global voluntary carbon market. Nature Co is currently implementing a large‑scale reforestation project in Brazil for the generation of verified carbon credits.
Role and Responsibilities
The Landholder and Reforestation Delivery Manager is the primary field‑based interface with landholders, communities, contractors and other local stakeholders for Nature Co’s projects in Brazil. The position builds and manages a pipeline of interested landholders, leads outreach and onboarding, coordinates site inspections, collects data for carbon standard checks, and leads signature of landholder agreements. It also ensures compliance with contracts and carbon standards and coordinates schedules between landholders and contractors for reforestation activities.
* Build and manage a pipeline of landholders interested in reforestation, lead outreach and onboarding, coordinate site inspections, and lead landholder agreement signatures.
* Engage stakeholders and maintain relationships to support retention, satisfaction and smooth site access.
* Coordinate site inspections, initial diagnostics, and support land tenure verification and FPIC documentation.
* Translate signed agreements into implementation‑ready site plans with scope, access instructions and schedule windows.
* Align field schedules with landholders and contractors to ensure access, minimise disruption and maintain trust.
* Track progress of contractor activities, escalating issues early (access, weather, input shortages, labour constraints).
* Monitor reforestation activities during and after planting, coordinating rapid response with contractors and landholders for grazing, fire risk, pests and drought stress.
* Plan and document stakeholder consultations and community meetings in line with Nature Co policies.
* Support the grievance mechanism and coordinate access for staff and contractors.
* Develop formal monthly, quarterly and annual project implementation reports and ad‑hoc presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
* Support management of a cross‑functional international team, fostering collaboration and ensuring project milestones are met.
* Stay current on emerging best practices in nature‑based solutions and share insights across the organisation and with partners.
Qualifications
* Minimum five (5) years of experience in reforestation projects with direct contact with rural landholders and planting service providers.
* Degree in forest engineering, agronomy, ecology or environmental science.
* Intermediate English and native Portuguese language skills.
