Seeking a forward-thinking finance leader to spearhead the transformation of financial operations into a data-driven, scalable structure. This role entails leading the redesign of processes, governance, and structure to support sustainable global growth.
Responsibilities include overseeing all financial operations (A/P, A/R, treasury, payroll, and accounting) with internal and 3rd-party providers; ensuring scalability, accuracy, and compliance. The ideal candidate will manage and optimize the company's investment portfolio, cash position, and asset allocation.
This role requires a strong background in FP&A, Controllership, Accounting, and Financial Planning. Hands-on experience with ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) and financial process automation is also necessary. Solid understanding of global financial operations, including taxation and compliance in the US, Brazil, and Europe is essential.
* Lead the financial transformation of Rocket.Chat — redesigning processes, governance, and structure to support sustainable global growth.
* Oversee all financial operations (A/P, A/R, treasury, payroll, and accounting) with internal and 3rd-party providers; ensuring scalability, accuracy, and compliance.
* Manage and optimize the company's investment portfolio, cash position, and asset allocation.
* Optimize the NetSuite ERP implementation and its integrations with Zoho CRM, Jira, Stripe and other core systems.
* Build a data-driven financial planning model, connecting operational and revenue metrics (LTV, CAC, churn, MRR, payback) to decision-making.
* Partner closely with GTM, Data, Product, and Operations teams to align financial strategy with business performance.
* Drive FP&A excellence: forecasting, variance analysis, and business insights for leadership and investors.
* Lead and mentor a lean finance team (FP&A, Controllership, Treasury, and Payroll), developing ownership and technical excellence.
* Ensure global compliance, governance, and audit readiness across all financial processes and transactions.
* Report directly to the COO, contributing as a key voice in strategic planning, funding, and board reporting.
* Manage facility services in the Porto Alegre office, ensuring quality of deliveries, structural needs, and vendor performance.
* Maintain communication with the Board and Investor Relations, providing updates and alignment on key operational and financial matters.
* Foster a culture of accountability and ownership, delivering defined financial results and driving continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience as CFO, Finance Director, or Head of Finance in startups or tech companies (preferably SaaS or open-source models).
* Strong background in FP&A, Controllership, Accounting, and Financial Planning.
* Hands-on experience with ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) and financial process automation.
* Solid understanding of global financial operations, including taxation and compliance in the US, Brazil, and Europe.
* Solid knowledge of processes and budgetary controls.
* Proficiency in cash management, financial modelling, forecasting, and performance metrics (MRR, LTV, CAC, churn, margins).
* Knowledge of international accounting standards (specifically US GAAP).
* Fluent English communication skills (reports and meetings in English).
* Proven ability to restructure and develop finance teams while embedding agile methodologies and governance frameworks.
* Experience in open-source or hybrid SaaS/enterprise business models.
* Familiarity with CRM and payment integrations (Zoho, Stripe, Jira).
* Understanding of data analytics and BI tools (Power BI, Zoho Analytics).
* Exposure to fundraising, Series A/B stages, M&A and investor relations.
* Experience collaborating with technical and data teams (e.g., AWS cost efficiency, data pipelines, metric creation).
* Soft skills: ownership, accountability, transparency, and ability to lead across distributed teams and time zones.
