Purpose of job: To lead a team of operatives to ensure that the relevant productivity, quality and financial service levels are met and to give input into the daily operations as required.
To provide support to operators in the area.
To carry out daily continuous improvement activities using PDCA and housekeeping methodologies, that delivers KPI and work environment improvements.
To be responsible for all warehouse activities, including receiving, storage and expedition.
Entry criteria: A minimum of 3 years' experience in manufacturing/production operations, including an understanding of manufacturing IT systems and warehousing/logistics.
Experience in preparing and controlling preventive maintenance plans for machines and hand tools.
Alternatively considerable experience of semi-skilled tasks and knowledge of company procedures and systems, including HMPS, PDCA and ISO9001/ISO14001, as well as an understanding of how the units work inter-relates with other departments will be required.
Good interpersonal skills, computer literacy and numeracy will be essential.

Level of Responsibilities
- To include all of the following:_- Using PDCA tools daily to deliver continuous improvements in the work area.- Maintaining and improving quality standards so that all products are delivered 100% defect free first time, every time.- Will deputize in the absence of a Lead.- Plans and manages resources on a daily basis.- Support the department Manager in implementing strategic plans and objectives, and other projects.- Administration duties as required to ensure daily KPI performance is achieved.- Assist in planning and coordinating manpower, machines, method and materials.- Train, coach and monitor staff in standard operating procedures (SOPs), including new employees/agency worker inductions.- Maintain highest levels of housekeeping, in all areas.- In respect of Health and Safety, ensures that the employees, contractors, and visitors are working on a safe place, appointing risks when they appear.- Undertake safety inspections and risk assessment monitoring as required.
Implement effective and documented corrective actions.- Supports the audit process.- Maintain control of waste streams, segregation and recycling.

Performance Issues
Competence is measured as the ability of someone to do a task safely, to the highest quality, at the standard level of output.
