OverviewThe Controls Field Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting for the full range of hardware and software products in the Controls Services Business portfolio. Primarily customers will be within the Power Generation and Oil & Gas industries internationally and may be located both onshore and offshore.ResponsibilitiesInstall and commission Control Solutions hardware and software in a wide variety of machine types encountered in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation and other process industriesTroubleshoot existing Control Solutions hardware and software installations on-sitePrepare field services jobs and interventions with the project managersProvide technical assistance to customers on site as neededProvide training to customer employees as neededSupervise mechanical and electrical sub-contractors, and instrumentation de-installation / reinstallationPerform engineering support and FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests)Lead and execute loop checks and commissioning phase performing the functional tests, Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)Lead and execute unit start-up and performance tests ensuring proper and safe operation of the machine by evaluating running parameters and troubleshooting control system problems as they ariseMaintain accurate timesheets and obtain customer signatures on timesheets before leaving the job siteWrite accurate and detailed reports after completion of each jobMaintain a working and operational knowledge of all GE Vernova Control Solutions & Services hardware and softwareAssess and monitor site safety during job executionCommunicate professionally with customers and other team membersUnderstand Terms and Conditions commitmentsInput hours, expenses and timesheets in internal systems in a timely and accurate mannerRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical / IT Engineering, or relatedProven working experience in Oil & Gas and Power Plant industry field activitiesExcellent written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnelElectrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with a hands-on approachStrong knowledge in rotating equipment control philosophy in Power Generation (HDGT, Aeroderivative Turbines, Steam Turbines, BOP) (Commissioning and Startup)Strong knowledge in unit control panel (UCP), motor control center (MCC), direct current panel (DCP), distributed control system (DCS)Strong knowledge in field devices, instruments and actuators (servo-valves, thermocouples, transmitters, etc.) and Industrial protocols (IEC 61850, Modbus, OPC UA, Profibus)Ability to handle special tools (pressure pump, multimeter, frequency generator, oscilloscope, field generator)Ability to understand and implement technical drawings (wiring diagrams, P&ID, General Arrangement, etc.)Ability to work under pressureWilling to travel within region ~70% ATR and to work overtimeFluent in English / Spanish / PortugueseValid driver's license and passport (or ability to obtain a passport)Strong computer skills using MS Office softwareDesired CharacteristicsExperience with MKVIe Control Panel and/or Woodward Controls systemsSoftware tools to support HMI and application changes (Cimplicity, ControlST Toolbox, etc.)Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly to customer needsAdditional InformationRelocation Assistance Provided: NoThis is a remote position
