About the Role
This is a senior-level position for a skilled professional to join our External Relations team as an expert in São Paulo.
You will work closely with Bloomberg's senior leadership, product teams, and external partners to support business goals by building trusted relationships, facilitating dialogue, and staying ahead of key policy trends that impact clients and the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead engagement with government officials, public institutions, and industry groups in LATAM identified as key for the business, fostering relationships, building alliances, and driving impactful conversations.
* Represent the company in strategic forums, roundtables, and public-private dialogues to strengthen presence and influence in key policy discussions.
* Monitor political and policy/regulatory developments in Brazil and the wider LATAM region to inform internal stakeholders and contribute to positioning on relevant issues.
* Work closely with a global team of regulatory experts to help understand and navigate a complex regulatory environment in the area of capital markets across LATAM.
* Convene and support high-level events, briefings, and thought leadership opportunities that bring together policymakers, regulators, financial market leaders, and experts.
* Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across the company, providing insights on the evolving political and policy environment.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* 8+ years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or public policy, preferably within a multinational company, industry association, consultancy, or government / regulatory agency.
* A strong network and deep understanding of the political and institutional landscape in key LATAM markets, including key government, regulatory, and financial market actors, as well as international bodies such as IOSCO.
* Deep understanding of financial markets regulatory policy and key workstreams of Finance Ministries, Central Banks, and Securities Regulators in the areas of market structure, trading, risk management, data, and digital finance issues.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas and build strong relationships across sectors.
* A passion for public policy, finance, and technology — and an ability to connect the dots between them.
* Experience organizing and speaking at high-level events or working in convening roles is a plus.
* Fluent Portuguese, English, and Spanish required.
