Position OverviewWe are seeking a Lighting Technician with professional experience in the film or television industry to support our productions both in-studio and on location. This role is essential to achieving the high visual standards Green Leaf is known for and requires both technical expertise and creative intuition.The Lighting Technician will work closely with the Director of Photography, Gaffer, and Grip team to execute lighting setups that match the creative vision while ensuring safe and efficient operations on set.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, adjust, and strike lighting equipment including LED, tungsten, HMI, and fluorescent unitsWork under the direction of the DP to achieve desired lighting styles and moodShape light using modifiers such as flags, scrims, softboxes, gels, reflectors, and diffusion materialsRun cables, manage power distribution, and safely rig lighting gear to various surfaces or structuresOperate dimmers and lighting control systems as neededMaintain and organize lighting equipment before, during, and after shootsAssist in loading/unloading lighting gear for both studio and remote productionsTroubleshoot lighting and electrical issues quickly and safely on setKeep up with industry standards, lighting trends, and equipment best practicesQualifications2–4 years of hands-on experience in film/TV production as a Lighting Technician or ElectricianStrong knowledge of lighting equipment, modifiers, cabling, and basic riggingUnderstanding of color temperature, lighting ratios, and exposure principlesFamiliarity with digital cinema cameras and how lighting interacts with sensors/lensesExcellent communication skills and ability to follow direction under tight timelinesComfortable working at heights or in confined spaces (when rigging lighting gear)Able to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periodsStrong commitment to on-set safety protocolsValid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various filming locations
