We are seeking an experienced Government Relations Manager to oversee our interactions with state and municipal governments, manage relationships with industry associations, and build effective partnerships that support our organizational objectives and enhance public policy initiatives.
This role is critical for advancing organizational goals and policy priorities. As a key member of our team, you will:
* Develop and maintain strategic relationships with state and municipal government officials to advance organizational goals and policy priorities
* Monitor regional legislative and policy developments, analyzing their potential impact on our operations and providing strategic recommendations
* Serve as the primary point of contact with key industry associations, fostering collaborative partnerships and advocating for shared interests
* Collaborate with internal teams to align government relations strategies with business objectives, ensuring cohesive integration and compliance
* Represent the organization at governmental meetings, public hearings, and industry association events, advocating for organizational positions and strengthening partnerships
* Prepare briefings, reports, and presentations for senior management, highlighting opportunities and challenges in state and municipal affairs
* Identify and mitigate potential government-related risks, developing strategies to address them proactively
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* Relevant experience in government relations or a related field, with a focus on state and municipal affairs and association engagement
* Proven ability to build and manage relationships with government officials and industry associations effectively
* Strong understanding of regional political landscapes and public policy processes
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of articulating organizational positions clearly and persuasively
* Demonstrated experience in successfully managing and advocating for public policy initiatives at the state and municipal levels
* Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
