Candidate must be available for international travel to countries such as the US and Spain.Work Time: 9h00 to 18h00Language: Advanced English (mandatory)Position OverviewWe are seeking a Resident Engineer with strong expertise in automotive Head-Up Display (HUD) systems. This role is not intended for mechanical engineers;
instead, it requires a professional with solid experience in HUD components, electronics, and optical systems within the automotive industry.The selected candidate will act as a liaison engineer between OEMs and internal engineering teams, supporting product development from concept through validation and production. The role demands hands-on technical knowledge, strong analytical skills, and the ability to operate in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.Key Responsibilities - Understand design and manufacturing requirements for HUD (Head-Up Display) modules and components - Work with automotive electrical connectors, housings, combiner mirrors, and isolators - Handle image generation units such as TFT LCD, LCoS, and DMD, as well as polarizers and IR/UV cut filters - Utilize spectrometers and luminance meters (considered a plus) - Apply basic knowledge of hologram calculations and windshield correction - Demonstrate system-level understanding of laser diodes, optics, LCoS, glare mitigation, and graphical development - Support and utilize Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems for issue tracking and resolution (nice to have) - Supervise electrical validation testing at component level according to DVP&R standards, including reporting and issue tracking - Work with CAD tools such as NX and CATIA - Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables - Analyze customer and internal requirements, translating them into hardware design solutions - Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for technical issues - Support OEM development phase events in alignment with product development schedules - Contribute to the design and development of electronic products and automotive subsystems - Act as a Hardware Liaison Engineer, coordinating with MOBIS headquarters and OEMs from concept design through final requirements, including design reviews, changes, and feasibility analysis - Work on-site at MNA and frequently at OEM facilitiesRequirements - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering or equivalent - Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronic product design or in the automotive industry, with focus on PCB and circuit design - Solid understanding of engineering principles and concepts - Strong communication skills to collaborate with R&D, marketing, manufacturing, suppliers, third parties, and customers - Proven ability to identify and resolve engineering problems - Availability for international travel, including manufacturing sites in the United States and other countriesDesired Profile - Autonomous and proactive professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Results-oriented, self-motivated, and goal-driven mindset - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in cross-functional and multicultural environmentsFurther information will be given along the technical interview.
