Job Description Summary
Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions, and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or focused on professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
Roles And Responsibilities
* Participates in R&D activities within the unit and across global R&D projects within Instrument Transformers (ITR).
* Identifies manufacturing/engineering deficiencies, proposes solutions and improvements.
* Responsible for the electrical design of the products manufactured or designed in USC/ITR.
* Ensures all technical documentation required for manufacturing and sales (drawings, bill of materials, instructions, manuals, material specifications) is prepared efficiently and in a timely manner.
* Leads the development, improvement, and customization of existing products, working closely with unit and ITR teams.
* Provides technical support for field problem resolution and guides suppliers, collaborating with Supply Chain and Sourcing.
* Supports manufacturing on a daily basis and assists in proposal and quotation preparations, reviewing non-standard requirements.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
* Experience in High Voltage apparatus engineering.
* Good communication skills, including written and verbal English.
* Fluent in Portuguese.
Desired Characteristics
* Experience with instrument or power transformers.
* Proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting.
* Initiative, planning, organization, analytical skills, teamwork, and time management.
* Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and EMTP/ATP is a plus.
