Located in a picturesque bay next to the fishing village of Las Playitas on the beach, the resort offers its guests state-of-the-art facilities such as a heated Olympic pool, a bike centre equipped with the latest road bikes and mountain bikes, 5 tennis courts, 4 padel courts, 2 multicourts, a climbing wall with 5 levels of difficulty, a boxing ring, indoor hall, a 700m² gym, open air fitness park and an 18-hole golf course.We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sports Director (m/f/d) to lead our entire sports areas and activities at our premier resort. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sports, possess strong leadership skills, and have a proven track record in managing and enhancing sports facilities and programs.Your TasksManage, coordinate and supervise the operations for Fitness, Cycle Center, Golf, Sportsbooking and Sportshop ensuring proper allocation of resourcesCreate and implement a comprehensive sports strategy offering a diverse range of activities for guests of all ages and skill levels, including the planning and delivery of sports programsMonitor and report on the effectiveness and impact of sports programsDrive initiatives such as tournaments and competitions that enhance our brand image and engagementMonitor and manage sports budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality or guest satisfactionDevelop strategies to increase onsite bookings in sports and maximize revenueLead projects to improve sports spaces, propose investments, and upgrade facilities for a better guest and staff experienceBuild and maintain strong connections with sports organizations, schools, Apollo, and governing bodies to enhance collaboration and community involvementEstablish a system for regular performance checks and maintenance of sports facilities, equipment, and infrastructure, while implementing safety protocols to protect guests and staffCreate and improve sports-related policies and processesOversee the recruitment, coordination, and legal compliance of guest instructorsCoordinate with other teams, such as F&B and marketing, to ensure availability of resources and seamless logistics for sports EventsDirect and mentor a team of sports instructors, coaches, and support staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environmentRecruit, train, and lead a high-performing team of sports instructors, coaches, and support staff while fostering a positive and collaborative work environmentAttend and represent the resort at sporting events, conferences, and community activitiesYour ProfileBachelor's degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related fieldAt least 2 years of proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality or sports industryIn-depth knowledge of various sports and recreational activitiesCertification in relevant sports coaching or instruction is a plusStrong leadership skills and organizational skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesFluent in English and Spanish; proficiency in additional languages such as German and/or Scandinavian language is highly valuedSignificant understanding of seasonal work, accepts flexibility in schedule and “walks the extra mile”
