Responsible for approvals within delegated credit authorities for Corporate and Financial Institution relationships in Latin America (Brazil / Mexico).
The Credit Risk Manager will be also responsible for local credit risk governance such as preparing / reviewing local risk policies / manual and producing risk governance decks and portfolio.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for approvals within delegated credit authorities for Corporate and Financial Institution relationships in Latin America (Brazil / Mexico).
- Support the local senior credit risk officer managing a portfolio of Corporate and Financial Institution clients, including reviewing credit analysis submitted by Wholesale Credit, comparing structural terms to internal policy requirements, and reviewing internal risk ratings.
- Perform regulatory responsibilities, such as the verification of existing controls on the credit process including origination, evaluation, approval and renewal, monitoring and tracking of credit portfolio, as well as the review of the ratings of the loan portfolio in accordance with local regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and anticipate industry specific events that could impact credit quality.
- Responsible for providing support to the local Chief Risk Officer, including, but not limited to, strategic planning, issues tracking, regulatory change process implementation and tracking/monitoring, preparation of materials for risk committees and other FLU/Control Functions.
- Prepare local risk policies, produce risk governance decks requiring interaction with various coverage areas across Risk Reporting, Finance, GCOR, Liquidity and Market Risk.
- Support managing the Laws, Rules, and Regulations inventory for the Country, tracking of changes and action plan remediation.
- Work closely with applicable GBAM Lines of Business and Control Functions to ensure an integrated risk management approach.
- Identify process and/or control gaps and implementation of remediation plans.
- Develop, maintain and manage relationships with business partners including Wholesale Credit, Corporate Banking, FICC sales team, GTS and Legal counsel
**Core skills and requirements**:
- In-depth knowledge of trading and loan products.
- In-depth familiarity with standard credit terms in ISDA Master Agreements and Loan agreements.
Ability to negotiate terms in accordance with bank guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and monitor a portfolio of corporate and financial institution names, including monitoring financial performance and trends with proactive follow-up with clients/industries facing challenges with performance, strategy, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, make sound credit decisions in a timely manner, manage multiple tasks and control a portfolio in a proactive manner
- Strong interpersonal skill set in dealing with internal traders/bankers, risk partners, control functions, among others.
- Strong written analytical skills and strong communication skills.
Ability to present key messages, recommendations and information in a clear and insightful way.
Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
- Fluent in English, Portuguese and/or Spanish.
- Ability to ensure adherence to deadlines.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in credit analysis and transaction approvals across a wide range of capital markets products.
- Must have strong attention to detail.
