PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
BBC World Service is an international multimedia broadcaster, part of BBC News, delivering a wide range of language and regional services and working increasingly with other parts of BBC News to serve global audiences. It uses multiple platforms to reach its weekly audience of over million globally, including TV, digital platforms such as social media, AM, FM, shortwave, digital satellite and cable channels.
BBC Brasil provides news and current affairs to Portuguese-speaking audiences in Brasil and around the world on digital. Its multimedia content, distributed to various partners in Brasil, available on and Social Media platforms, reaches around 20 million unique users monthly.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
Create and deliver high-quality content using video, audio, and digital tools across platforms, ensuring outputs meet the BBC's editorial standards.
Present and produce programmes for radio, TV, or online—live or recorded—tailored to diverse audiences and formats.
Exercise sound editorial judgment in researching and developing story ideas, ensuring accuracy, impartiality, and audience relevance.
Collaborate effectively across teams and departments, sharing content, avoiding duplication, and upholding best practices.
Lead and manage production workflows, from planning and studio work to post-production, while meeting tight deadlines and adhering to BBC health and safety policies.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Advanced video editing skills in Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and other industry-standard tools.
Proven experience in shooting and editing compelling journalistic video content that resonates with diverse audiences.
Strong grasp of digital formats and audience behavior across platforms including YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
Field reporting capability, with a talent for producing engaging video stories directly from location.
Thrives under pressure, delivering reliable, creative solutions in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
Sharp editorial judgment, with the ability to craft clear, engaging scripts and gather content using a range of technologies.
Collaborative and inclusive, with excellent planning skills, a commitment to diversity, and a deep understanding of BBC editorial standards.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Knowledge of animation and motion design is highly desirable.
Experience in live streaming and live broadcasts is also an advantage.
Audio editing and podcast production experience is considered a plus.
