🟢 About Vammo

Vammo is building an accessible, resilient, and scalable clean-energy network for emerging megacities, starting in Latin America. By combining electric motorcycle subscriptions with a rapidly expanding battery-swap infrastructure, we make clean transportation affordable and reliable for the millions who keep cities moving.

Founded in 2022 and headquartered in São Paulo, Vammo has raised $100M from top-tier global investors. Our team represents a highly diverse and international group, including former leaders from Tesla, Uber, Rappi, iFood, Loggi, Niu, and Jump. We are deeply motivated by the mission to decarbonize Latin America while reducing costs for those who need it most.

The next wave of mobility innovation will not come from San Francisco — but from São Paulo. Our operations will soon expand across Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia, proving that meaningful climate impact and transformative business models can emerge first where the need is greatest.

🚀 Role Description

We are looking for a Mechanical Reliability Engineer to join our growing hardware and product reliability team. You will work directly with senior engineers and operational teams to investigate mechanical failures from the field, analyze data from multiple sources, and trace failures back to their root causes.

This role is built for someone with a mechanical or mechatronics engineering background who is hands-on, systematic, and technically curious. You will work closely with physical components, assemblies, and vehicle systems — documenting failure modes, creating structured SOPs, and translating field observations into actionable engineering improvements.

Your work will directly improve the mechanical reliability of Vammo's electric motorcycles and infrastructure, driving design changes, maintenance process improvements, and long-term product durability.

💼 What You'll Do
* Investigate mechanical failures in electric motorcycles by combining physical inspections, field observations, teardown analysis, and operational data into clear, evidence-based conclusions.
* Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for diagnostics, component inspection, and maintenance workflows — ensuring that knowledge is captured, repeatable, and accessible to mechanics and operations teams.
* Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring mechanical issues, documenting failure modes, contributing factors, and recommended corrective actions.
* Analyze mechanical and mechatronic assemblies including frames, suspensions, drivetrain components, wiring harnesses, connectors, and structural interfaces to identify design weaknesses or manufacturing deviations.
* Support reliability testing and validation of mechanical components and assemblies, including durability, stress, and accelerated aging tests.
* Work closely with mechanics and field operations teams to gather contextual information from the ground that cannot be captured by sensors or telemetry alone.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to propose design improvements, material changes, or process corrections that address identified root causes.
* Build and maintain failure mode documentation, inspection checklists, and reliability trackers that strengthen Vammo's engineering knowledge base as we scale.

🔍 What We're Looking For

We value energy, curiosity, and adaptability over perfect resumes. You'll stand out if you have:

Technical Background
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related field.
* Experience (1–2+ years) in reliability engineering, mechanical testing, product development, or manufacturing is a plus — but not required for exceptional candidates.
* Familiarity with failure analysis methodologies (FMEA, 8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys) is highly valued.

Mechanical & Mechatronic Skills
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly diagrams, and technical specifications.
* Understanding of mechanical systems such as suspensions, structural assemblies, drivetrain components, and fastening systems.
* For mechatronics profiles: comfort working at the interface of mechanical and electrical/electronic systems, including wiring harnesses, connectors, and sensor integration.
* Hands-on attitude toward inspecting failed components, disassembling assemblies, and replicating failure conditions in a lab or field environment.

Documentation & Process Skills
* Ability to write clear, structured SOPs and technical reports that can be used by mechanics, engineers, and operations teams.
* Systematic approach to documenting failure modes, evidence, and corrective actions.
* Experience with tools like Notion, Confluence, or similar knowledge management platforms is a plus.

Ways of Working
* Curious, persistent, and investigative mindset — you enjoy solving puzzles.
* Clear communicator who can translate technical findings to non-technical teams.
* Comfortable switching between field environments, hands-on lab work, and structured documentation.
* Startup DNA: resourceful, fast-learning, and excited by rapid iteration.
* Extreme humility and eagerness to grow with a high-caliber team.

If you're excited about making physical products more reliable, enjoy getting your hands dirty with real components, and want to build robust engineering processes from the ground up — this role is for you.

🌎 What You’ll Get
* Join Latin America’s most well-funded climate-tech startup
* Work with a mission-driven team transforming mobility, reducing carbon emissions, and delivering meaningful savings to customers
* High-impact environment with accelerated growth opportunities
* Brilliant, ambitious, global team
* Competitive compensation and equity package
* Health insurance and additional benefits
* Diverse, inclusive, and globally minded culture

⚖️ Diversity Commitment
* Vammo is an Equal Opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
