Databricks Architect / Senior Data Engineer (Contract)Location: Brazil (Remote – supporting US-based clients)Contract Length: 6 monthsRole OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Databricks Architect who remains highly hands-on as a Data Engineer to support data platform design and delivery for US-based clients. This role will focus on building and optimizing modern lakehouse solutions, with strong ownership of architecture decisions while actively contributing to development.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and evolve Databricks lakehouse solutions, following medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) best practicesAct as the technical architect while remaining hands-on in pipeline development, optimization, and troubleshootingBuild and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, and SQLCollaborate with US-based stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams to translate business requirements into technical solutionsOptimize performance, cost, and reliability across data workloadsContribute to data modeling, data quality, and governance practicesLeverage recent exposure to Microsoft Fabric where appropriate, understanding how it complements or integrates with Databricks-based architecturesRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong experience as a Databricks Architect and/or Senior Data EngineerProven, hands-on experience implementing medallion architecture in production environmentsAdvanced knowledge of Apache Spark, Databricks, and SQLExperience designing end-to-end data pipelines and lakehouse architecturesRecent exposure to Microsoft Fabric (hands-on preferred)Ability to balance architecture leadership with hands-on engineering workStrong English language skills and experience working with US-based clients or teamsNice to HaveExperience in consulting or professional services environmentsFamiliarity with data governance, security, and cost optimization in cloud platformsExperience working in hybrid Databricks / Fabric ecosystems
