Job Title: Sales Executive - Shipyards & Shipowners
This is a pivotal role in our commercial growth, representing suppliers' products and services to shipyards and shipowners.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Sales – Marine & Offshore, focusing on identifying new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and supporting the introduction of supplier solutions.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop a deep understanding of suppliers' products and their applications within shipbuilding, repair, and conversion projects.
* Provide technical and commercial presentations tailored to shipyards and shipowner requirements.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of supplier technologies, certifications, and industry standards.
Business Development:
* Identify and develop new business opportunities with shipyards, shipowners, and related stakeholders in the maritime and offshore markets.
* Build and manage a pipeline of qualified prospects through proactive outreach, industry networking, and relationship building.
* Convert leads into sales opportunities and manage the full sales process from initial contact to contract closure.
* Expand our presence within key accounts, ensuring continuous engagement and satisfaction.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Insight:
* Monitor market trends, shipbuilding projects, fleet expansions, and dry-docking activities across the region.
* Analyze competitors' positioning, pricing, and service offerings to identify differentiation opportunities.
* Share market insights and customer feedback with internal teams and supplier partners to guide strategic decisions.
Sales Strategy & Reporting:
* Support the development and execution of sales strategies aligned with our objectives in the marine and offshore sectors.
* Maintain accurate records of opportunities, client interactions, and pipeline status within the CRM system.
* Provide regular reports on sales activities, forecasts, and market developments to the Director of Sales – Marine & Offshore.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* B2B Sales Expertise: Proven track record in technical, industrial, or maritime sales.
* Client Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and long-term partnerships with shipyards, shipowners, and technical teams.
* Technical & Market Knowledge: Understanding of marine equipment, systems, or components used in shipbuilding and vessel maintenance.
* Negotiation & Commercial Acumen: Skilled in managing bids, pricing discussions, and contract finalization processes.
* Strategic Thinking: Capable of identifying business opportunities through market analysis and strategic planning.
* Collaboration: Works effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver value-driven commercial solutions.
Prior experience in B2B technical or industrial sales is required, preferably within the maritime, shipbuilding, or offshore sectors.
A background in mechanical, electrical, or marine engineering is highly beneficial but not necessary.
