Roles and Responsibilities
* Oversee and lead the development, coordination, and delivery of Electrical BIM models across all project stages, ensuring compliance with project requirements, standards, and industry best practices.
* Manage and guide the Electrical BIM team by providing technical support, quality checks, and mentorship to ensure accurate and efficient model development.
* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams (Mechanical, Architectural, Structural, and other engineering teams) to ensure effective model coordination and clash-free deliverables.
* Develop, implement, and maintain BIM standards, templates, workflows, and best practices specifically for electrical systems.
* Review design documents, shop drawings, and BIM outputs for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project specifications and client expectations.
* Conduct regular model audits, data checks, and quality control reviews to ensure the integrity and reliability of electrical BIM deliverables.
* Lead coordination meetings with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to resolve model-related issues, clashes, and design discrepancies.
* Prepare and deliver BIM-related documentation, including model execution plans, progress reports, schedules, and technical presentations.
* Ensure all electrical BIM content is updated, version-controlled, and aligned with project timelines and milestones.
* Support the integration of BIM with other digital tools such as Navisworks, Revit and clash detection software for enhanced project delivery.
* Assist project managers and engineers in interpreting BIM data for cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and construction planning.
* Identify process gaps and propose improvements to enhance BIM efficiency, model accuracy, and team productivity.
* Train and upskill team members on BIM technologies, electrical modeling techniques, and emerging industry trends.
* Coordinate with client BIM teams to understand project expectations, provide updates, and ensure smooth communication throughout the project lifecycle.
* Support project handover documentation, including as-built models and facility management-ready BIM outputs.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
* 4–8 years of hands-on experience in Electrical BIM modeling, coordination, and project delivery.
* Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Electrical discipline) with strong understanding of electrical systems such as lighting, power distribution, grounding, cable tray routing, and fire alarm systems.
* Strong experience using Navisworks for clash detection, coordination, and model review.
* Familiarity with AutoCAD, BIM 360, ACC, Bluebeam, and other industry tools.
* Experience in developing BIM standards, workflows, and templates for electrical systems.
* Solid understanding of U.S. construction practices, NEC codes, and electrical engineering principles.
* Proven ability to lead, mentor, and guide BIM teams while maintaining high-quality output.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and complex BIM data.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills, particularly in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting timelines and client expectations.
* Experience with Dynamo or other automation tools is a strong advantage.
* Prior experience working on U.S. projects—especially Data Centers, Industrial, or Government facilities—is preferred.
