Key Responsibilities
Phi is seeking an experienced anEngineering Manager / Technology Leadto establish andrun a local delivery team in São Pauloworking on amodern, cloud-native, cross-asset Pricing & Risk platformfor a global financial-services client.
This role ownslocal delivery, team leadership, governance, and quality, allowing the global technical lead to focus on architecture and strategy.
The successful candidate will behands-on, delivery-oriented, and business-aware, with a strongPython-led engineering mindsetand experience building and operating distributed systems in regulated environments.
This role gives you the opportunity to:
• Report directly to the Global Engineering & Technology Lead based in London
•Leadthe São Paulodelivery team
•Own end-to-end deliveryfor the São Paulo team across development, testing, release, and BAU support
• Translate high-level architectural direction intopractical, incremental delivery plans
•Ensure deliveryagainst agreed milestones, quality standards, and non-functional requirements
• Act as thelocal point of accountabilityfor delivery outcomes
• Ownengineering governance, including:
•Code qualityand review practices
•Testing strategyand coverage
•CI/CDand release discipline
•Documentationand operational readiness
• Ensure solutions meetsecurity, resilience, and auditabilityexpectations typical of Pricing & Risk systems
• Proactivelyidentify and mitigatedelivery and operational risks
•Remain technically engaged, contributing where appropriate (design reviews, complex debugging, critical path work)
• Act as atrusted local interfaceto client technology and business stakeholders
The Ideal candidate
Essential
• Proven experience as anEngineering Manager, Technology Lead, or similar role
• Strong hands-on engineering background, ideally withPython as a primary language
• Experienceleading small to mid-sized development teamsin a delivery-focused environment
• Demonstratedownership of delivery, quality, and governance, not just design
• Experience building or operatingcloud-native platforms
•Strong communication skillsand confidence engaging with business and technical stakeholders
•Fluent English(spoken and written)
Highly Desirable
• Experience incapital markets, pricing, risk, trading, or market data systems
• Prior experience working withdistributed or international teams
• Background in regulated or high-reliability environment
• Exposure to cross-asset systems or analytics platforms
