Responsible for cost reduction, cash improvement opportunities, supply risk management, and sourcing initiatives and tools. May have responsibility for management of accounts payable ledger or purchase order transaction management. May negotiate highly complex sourcing contracts. Leads team(s) to manage external suppliers to deliver improved benefits to 3M. Here, You Will Make An Impact ByConsulting with Sourcing and transportation operations team to develop a standardized RFP documentation process for each modeProblem solving requires hypothetical thinking to determine best solutions for complex problems. Utilizes resources across work areas and departments to create solutions. Most complex problem solving may require in-depth interpretation and analysis for significantly different situations.Decisions impact one area of the organization and occasionally may impact multiple areasEstablishing and enforcing multiple concepts relative to the logistics function. Tasks include:Becoming an SME on sourcing RFP platform – Build RFPs and develop.Providing insights to sourcing managers on key market trends to assist in negotiations.Supporting strategy development data collection.Developing systems to support sourcing information needs.Building relationships with parcel, international freight, and drayage suppliers.Leading supplier negotiations and contract management for parcel carriers, rail car leases, customs brokers.Developing BI reports on supplier spend, market trends, and market intelligence.Validating and publishing cost vs market trend.Driving/ensuring compliance with corporate sourcing policies and procedures.Incorporating local issues into corporate sourcing plans, considering local goals and investments.Managing major claims against suppliers.Developing a tracking mechanism for cost-saving programs and opportunities.Communicating with managers, functional leaders, area/business leaders, department heads, and external clients.Demonstrating company values.Participating in corporate programs/initiatives, complying with standards and policies, and acting in accordance with 3M’s values and ethics.Your Skills And ExpertiseTo succeed from day one, 3M requires (at minimum):Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Business administration or related.Three (3) years of transportation / Logistics sourcing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.Experience in Business and Data Analytics (PowerBi, Tableau, Advanced Excel). Understanding financial data is a plus.Advanced English level.Additional qualifications include:Master’s degree in finance, Business Administration or related, from an accredited institution.Five (5) years of Sourcing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong program management, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and functions.Supporting Your Well-being3M offers programs to support your physical and financial well-being.
