Job Description
This role involves activities related to the design and development of products, solutions, and systems, including the technical improvement of existing products and components. The engineer will plan and execute departmental operations or focus on professional activities within a technical discipline, working with some autonomy guided by established policies and review of results. Procedures and practices may be modified as long as standards of quality, volume, and timeliness are met.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Participate in R&D activities within the unit and across global projects related to Instrument Transformers (ITR).
* Identify manufacturing and engineering deficiencies, propose solutions, and implement improvements.
* Design electrical components and systems for products manufactured or designed in USC/ITR.
* Ensure high-quality technical documentation (drawings, BOMs, instructions, manuals, specifications) is prepared efficiently and timely for manufacturing and sales.
* Lead the development of new products and the improvement and customization of existing ones, collaborating closely with the development team.
* Provide technical support for resolving field issues and guide suppliers, working with Supply Chain and Sourcing teams.
* Assist the sales team in preparing proposals, quotations, and reviewing non-standard requirements.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
* Experience in High Voltage apparatus engineering
* Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
* Fluency in Portuguese
Desired Characteristics
* Experience with instrument or power transformers
* Proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting
* Initiative, organization, analytical skills, teamwork, and excellent time management
* Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and EMTP/ATP is a plus
