Job Description:
Extrastaff, a Labour Hire Company, is hiring full-time Construction Specialists. Our growing business requires an organised and trustworthy individual who prides themselves on quality workmanship. You will be motivated and result driven. Positions are full-time and permanent, with site location based on project demand.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Construct, install and repair framework and structures, formwork, framing, cladding and finishing work, including foundation, walls, floors, roofs and ceilings.
Cut materials, assemble and install doors, windows, cladding, insulation, linings, and finishing elements.
Construct concrete formwork, create metal and wood structure forms or chutes by using fasteners, rod bending machines or hand tools, and assist in pouring concrete if required.
Erect and dismantle scaffolding and access equipment for assembling structures above ground level, in accordance with safety standards.
Cover subfloors with building paper to keep out moisture and lay hardwood, parquet, or wood strip block floors by nailing floors to subfloor or cementing them to mastic or asphalt base.
Repair and maintain existing fittings.
Loading and unloading building and construction materials, tools and equipment and transporting them around sites.
Work on rotating project sites across the country.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by the employer to support project and business objectives.
Skills and experience required:
2-year experience in the construction industry or Level 4 relevant qualification.
NZ Driver license or overseas equivalent is required.
Able to work independently and adapt to new environments.
Experience working on commercial, infrastructure, or civil construction projects preferred.
Sound knowledge of H&S procedures.
Understanding of and commitment to workplace health, safety, and quality standards.
Nationwide Opportunity and Travel:
Although this role is listed in Nelson - Tasman, we are recruiting for positions to be deployed across all regions of New Zealand, depending on project requirements. For clarification, these regions are:
North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington.
South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
