Job Title: Control Systems Specialist
Job Description
The Controls Field Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of hardware and software products in the Controls Services Business portfolio. The role primarily involves working with customers in the Power Generation and Oil & Gas industries, both onshore and offshore.
* Install and commission control solutions hardware and software in various machine types.
* Troubleshoot existing installations on-site.
* Prepare field services jobs and interventions with project managers.
* Provide technical assistance to customers as needed.
* Supervise subcontractors and instrumentation de-installation/reinstallation.
* Perform engineering support and FAT factory acceptance tests.
* Lead and execute loop checks and commissioning phases.
* Lead and execute unit start-ups and performance tests.
* Maintain accurate timesheets and customer signatures.
* Write detailed reports after each job.
* Maintain knowledge of GE Vernova Control Solutions & Services hardware and software.
* Assess and monitor site safety.
* Communicate professionally with customers and team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
* A Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanic/IT Engineering or a related field.
* Proven experience in Oil & Gas and Power Plant industry field activities.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
* Strong knowledge in rotating equipment control philosophy.
* Experience with control panels, motor control centers, and distributed control systems.
* Knowledge of field devices, instruments, and actuators.
* Ability to handle special tools.
* Understanding of technical drawings.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Willingness to travel and work overtime.
* Fluent English/Spanish/Portuguese language skills.
* A valid driver's license and passport.
* Strong computer skills using MS Office software.
Desired Characteristics
We are looking for candidates with:
* Experience with MKVIe Control Panel and/or Woodward Controls systems.
* Software tool applications to support HMI and application changes.
